Position Summary

The Controller will report directly to our CEO & Portfolio CFO and work closely with other executive leaders, internal and external stakeholders and individual contributors of the company. You will have the responsibility and latitude to establish best practices and guide the accounting framework across the Sharpen group of companies. The Controller is a key management team member and individual technical resource. Job Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of the Finance & Accounting function including month-, quarter-, and year-end closes, annual planning and budgeting, financial audits, Board and Investor Reporting, Payroll, A/P, A/R, Collections, state and federal tax compliance, state business registrations, GAAP compliance, and various special analyses. Work with Finance and Business Partners on critical business objectives and potential efficiencies and provide concrete insights to help advise decision-making. Track financial progress against the annual plan. Own the completeness and accuracy of the company-wide reporting packet which includes traditional Financial Statements as well as operating KPIs for Accounting/Finance. Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines. Remediate weak processes to safeguard company assets. Create stability in accounting operations by recruiting, developing and cross-training team members as a servant leader. Lead a team of 4-5 individuals in Accounting/Finance/Payroll. Operate with discretion, a high sense of ownership and the willingness to problem solve / self-start. Operate across multiple systems and become the SME for areas of ownership; ERPs, Treasury, Business Intelligence, Billing Operations, CRM. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting Active CPA certification - required +10 years of experience as an accounting or finance professional +5 years of experience directly managing a team or associate contributors Experience considerations may be given for high-velocity public-facing roles or public company experience. Preferred Qualifications

MBA, MACC, MTAX Public Accounting experience Experience in high-tech SaaS, CCaaS, or scaled Startups Systems integration experience Familiarity with NetSuite, Billing systems, ASC 606 implementation, Salesforce, BI Why Join Sharpen?
