Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team. This role will play a critical part in building a positive employee experience, ensuring compliance with labor regulations, and supporting the company’s overall HR operations. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, people-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Compliance & HR Operations
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Support audits and reporting requirements.
- Stay up to date with multi-state labor and employment regulations, with emphasis on restaurant industry compliance in California and New York.
- Recruitment & Hiring
- Partner with managers to identify hiring needs and develop job descriptions.
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and extending offers.
- Support employer branding and candidate experience initiatives.
- Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
- Prepare necessary paperwork, system access, and training materials.
- Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews, final documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Employee Relations
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and conflict resolution.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and support employee engagement initiatives.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and best practices.
- Training Development
- Create and update manuals, guides, and resources to help employees learn daily tasks and company processes.
- Support ongoing employee training and development initiatives.
- Payroll & Finance Collaboration
- Partner with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Verify timekeeping, deductions, and compliance with wage and hour regulations.
- Support payroll audits and resolve discrepancies as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR laws, compliance requirements, and best practices, especially related to CA, NY, and NJ.
- Prior experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry is preferred.
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is required.
- 1+ years of HR experience (generalist or similar role).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Restaurant365, Toast, Gusto, AllianceHCM, or similar systems is preferred.
- Visa support, including OPT and H-1B, is available for qualified candidates.
