Job Summary
The Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (ADJC) is in search of a Human Resources Manager, reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer. This role entails overseeing a team of four (4) human resources professionals responsible for recruitment, classification/compensation, and operational duties. Operating with minimal supervision, the role demands a commitment to confidentiality, discretion, and independent judgment. The incumbent will provide consultative and technical guidance to the agency's leadership team. This position is classified as FLSA-Exempt.
Job Duties
- Leads a team overseeing recruitment, classification, compensation, and operations, ensuring strict adherence to Arizona State Personnel System (SPS) Personnel Rules, as well as federal and state laws
- Oversees the development and revision of position descriptions, assesses classification and grade assignments, conducts salary analyses, and makes recommendations on salary-related actions
- Performs research to identify complex problems and makes recommendations for resolution
- Compiles reports, analyzes data, and presents information to the agency's leadership
- Manages the CORP and ensures accurate and timely processing of elections and appointments of board members, and retirements
- Occasional travel to the Adobe Mountain School
- Attends training and meetings
- Develops and facilitates HR related training for agency management and staff
- Performs other duties as assigned

Laws, rules, regulations and procedures governing personnel administration including SPS Rules and ADOA policies

Selective Preference
Candidates must have at least one (1) year of experience supervising/managing professional HR personnel engaged in recruitment, operations, and classification/compensation, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
Pre-Employment Requirements
