A Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) is needed for a full-time, temporary maternity leave coverage position in a school setting located in Kentwood, Michigan. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide essential social work services to students, helping them navigate emotional, social, and behavioral challenges while promoting a supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
  • Conduct assessments to determine student needs and develop tailored intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to address social-emotional needs.
  • Participate in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans as necessary.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support during acute student challenges.
  • Educate students and staff on social-emotional skills and mental health awareness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services rendered and monitor student progress.
  • Facilitate communication among the school, families, and community agencies to ensure coordinated care.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Active LMSW licensure in the state of Michigan.
  • Experience in school-based social work or working with pediatric populations.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, 504 Plans, and other relevant special education regulations.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple student needs in a dynamic school environment.
