SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Laminator Operator is responsible for setting up the solventless adhesive laminator, running production of the laminator, cleaning and all related maintenance of the machine.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Identifies and ensures that proper materials are used for production

to ensure

mistakes are not made and materials match as necessary

Runs the proper amount of material/footage to the job order

and c ompletes proper checking of production and material

Prepares for production at the end of each day for the following day

Perform all required quality checks prior to producing all production orders to ensure a product can be processed at the next stage of the manufacturing process.

Load and unload material from the laminators using defined equipment

Set up & Operate specific Laminating Machine according to company laminating procedures and guidelines.

Perform daily and periodic preventative maintenance duties specified for assigned machines/equipment.

Maintain cleanliness of machines/equipment and adjacent work area .

Report quality issues and food safety violations to Production Manager.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other duties as assigned

Turns on auxiliary and other equipment as needed

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to read rulers ,

understand gauges and use a micrometer

Testing of equipment

Ability to understand lamination process

Multiple machine qualifications preferred but not required

Troubleshooting skills

Ability to complete production related documentation on both computer and paper forms

Ability to work additional overtime if required to get the job tasks completed

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Experience in production, lamination and printing setting preferred, but not necessary

Responsibility in the area of food safety essentials

Ability to pass training tests/methods to become qualified on one or more alternative production machines such as slitting, pouching, and printing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Mostly on the production floor

Hearing protection, c ut resistant gloves, safety glasses

Handling of solventless adhesives and cleaning solvents

Keep clothes clean and untorn

Cleaning area daily to maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)

Will be around moving mechanical parts and vibration
