Who You Are:
This role provides strategic HR support to a team constructing a new data center, including talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee engagement, and change management initiatives. You will ensure the project is staffed with the right people, supported throughout the build-out, compliant with regulations, and fostering a positive work environment. The ideal candidate is energized by quickly growing a team, has an entrepreneurial attitude, a strong network, and is a collaborative partner. You should be able to develop and execute talent strategies in close partnership with business leaders.
What You’ll Do:
Talent Acquisition and Staffing:
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract skilled technical talent for data center roles (electricians, engineers, technicians, etc.).
- Partner with hiring managers to assess candidate qualifications and ensure alignment with project needs.
- Manage vendor relationships with staffing agencies to source temporary or contract workers as needed.
Workforce Planning and Deployment:
- Create detailed workforce plans based on project timelines and staffing requirements.
- Manage onboarding and training programs to integrate new hires effectively.
Change Management and Communication:
- Develop communication plans to keep employees informed about project updates and organizational changes.
- Facilitate smooth transitions and manage resistance during the build-out.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to employment laws and safety regulations related to construction.
- Monitor workplace hazards and promote safety culture.
Performance Management and Development:
- Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Identify opportunities for skills development and career growth within the team.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 7 years of proven experience as an HR partner in data center operations, real estate, or construction.
- Deep understanding of recruitment, workforce planning, and talent management practices, including outside major metro areas.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of employment laws and compliance requirements related to construction projects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing needs.
- Willingness and ability to travel at least one week per month.
