EHS Coordinator
Lasko Products, a market leader for nearly 120 years in home comfort products, including portable fans, heaters and air purifiers, is seeking an EHS Coordinator to join the Ft. Worth, TX facility. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for performing and initiating activities that support environmental health and safety initiatives, assisting Human Resources with New Employee Orientation, ensuring effective and efficient compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and managing facility safety processes to protect employees, the company, and the environment while maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. This role will be onsite and reporting to the EHS Manager. Essential Functions Continually improve, evaluate, implement and maintain health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to protect employees and comply with company, state, federal and local regulations. Plan, schedule, coordinate and conduct safety training. Identify, further develop and deliver training programs in a manner that raises employee's awareness and enables employees and supervisors to work safely. Maintain relevant EHS logs and documentation. Develop and administer plant safety and environmental initiatives and lead continuous improvement efforts in those areas, utilizing effective communication skills (verbal and written). Ensure periodic audits and inspections are completed in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Enforce compliance of regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.) including company EHS policies and procedures. Manage waste operations for the facility in accordance with local, state and federal requirements. Review safety data sheets (SDS) for all new materials designated for facility use. Maintain the SDS database for the facility. Maintain an active EHS presence in the facility. Actively reinforce the need for safety, and an "open door" policy for safety issues. Assist in emergency response including first aid. Manage facility workplace incident investigations to include responding to and reporting all incidents, incident investigations and root cause determinations. Develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). Assist with SOP development. Stay updated on federal, state and local regulations changes that affect facility operations. Competencies and Abilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Problem Solving/Analysis. Provide solutions to safety and health issues in a wide variety of areas. Demonstrate successful leadership and guidance of health, safety management and interaction with all levels of management. Comprehensive understanding of environmental, health and safety management practices, principles and procedures. Certifications and Special Requirements Basic computer Skills Microsoft Office Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree B.S. in EHS Discipline. Experience in EHS in a manufacturing facility may substitute for a degree. 3-5 years experience Bilingual is plus but not required.
