principal technical sales advisor and strategist
for the corporate segment, serving as the link between technical sellers and broader account vision. This role reports to the Regional Corporate Organization to drive consistency and industry-leading practice sharing across regions. You will focus on two areas: (1)
Azure Technical Leadership
– guiding and supporting Azure-related opportunities and consumption in the region, and (2)
Cross-Workload Integration
– working with other solution area tech specialists to ensure end-to-end technical engagement is cohesive and aligned with sales priorities. You act as a “Chief Technology Officer (CTO)” of the regional sales team, mentoring solution engineers, orchestrating complex technical deals, and establishing partnerships with product engineering and partner technical teams. This role allows you to remain hands-on technically while shaping strategic initiatives such as SAP on Azure migrations and GitHub adoption. In this role, you take on strategic technical sales leadership without direct people management, leveraging influence to raise technical excellence. You will
own the technical strategy
for Azure and cross-solution technical Communities in the corporate segment. You will be the escalation point for technical issues, design solution approaches for big deals, and champion technical community building to share deep-dives, training, and industry-leading practices. This position gives you the chance to shape the technical direction and skillset of an entire sales region, work on impactful deals, and foster innovation through technology partnerships. The

Azure Technical Leadership: Serve as the primary technical authority for Azure in the corporate segment. Shape and support Azure solution strategy in top opportunities, including architecture selection, performance and cost considerations, and alignment with the customer IT landscape. Collaborate with Cloud Solution Architects and Digital Solution Specialists to meet Azure consumption targets and ensure long-term success. Act as a trusted advisor on Azure technologies and engage with customer tech leaders to build confidence in Microsoft’s Azure capabilities. Cross-Workload Support: Drive technical sales across solution areas by coordinating with Regional Solution Area Sales Leads and the Specialist Technical Unit (STU). Align resources across AI Business Solutions, Security, and other workloads; coordinate multi-solution proposals; escalate blockers; and maintain momentum on deals. Technical Community Leadership: Support first-line managers of Digital Solution Engineers and Digital Cloud Solution Architects; organize technical forums, architecture reviews, and hackathons; lead regional technical calls; mentor engineers to grow technical mastery. Elevate Technical Mastery: Champion skilling and certifications across technical roles; set expectations for certifications and competencies; drive programs for sales and technical readiness; assess and address skills gaps with WW Learning and others. Drive Key Technical Initiatives: Lead regional technical sales initiatives (e.g., SAP on Azure migrations, GitHub for Developers integration) and track progress toward goals. Collaboration with ATU/STU/CSU: Work with account, specialist, and customer success leads to accelerate deals, remove roadblocks, align POCs with account goals, and ensure seamless hand-off from pre-sales to delivery. Channel & Sales Enablement & Operations (SE&O) Engagement: Integrate partners and Microsoft resources into technical sales motions; coordinate with SE&O to leverage technical marketing programs and workshops; advocate for regional technical needs to win deals. Required/minimum qualifications
Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field AND 6+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Cloud technologies (Azure, M365, Security) in a technical capacity (certifications preferred) 2+ years experience presenting to and influencing executives and stakeholders and using data to inform strategy 2+ years experience leading and representing technical communities across diverse stakeholders Additional or Preferred Qualifications
12+ years total technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience (or equivalent) 6+ years experience with cloud/hybrid/on-prem infrastructure, migrations, and technology management Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Azure Administrator/Architect, Security, M365, Power BI) 3+ years of solution sales or consulting services sales experience Digital Solution Engineering IC5 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD 62.93 - 121.11 per hour, with location-based variations.
