Billing Specialist - Greenville, SC
Location: Greenville, SC (100% on-site) Pay: $23-$25/hour DOE Type: Contract to Hire As a Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication among customersboth internal and externalas well as regional offices, the accounting team, Sales Managers, and the billing department. This position is essential for the Accounts Receivable Department to achieve its objectives of operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily billing processes for all accounts within your assigned portfolio. Ensure invoices are entered accurately and distributed promptly, including processing through customer portals. Adhere to standard accounting practices for revenue recognition. Verify all required documentation is present before invoicing. Comply with company billing policies. Escalate any billing documentation that does not conform to policy to management for evaluation. Collaborate with the accounting team to report discrepancies in a timely manner. Generate and review the "shipped not billed" report weekly to avoid month-end delays. Assist the billing supervisor with the preparation of billing reports. Work closely with collections and cash teams to support reconciliation efforts. Participate in monthly functional team meetings. Maintain a root cause analysis report to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Meet established targets and deadlines for invoices, credits, and rebills. Provide support to both commercial and residential clients. Qualifications and Competencies:
Minimum of three years' experience in billing, ideally within the construction or manufacturing sector. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Preferred: General understanding of billing procedures aligned with accepted accounting standards.
