Accounts Payable Specialist
$23 - $26/Hour Location: Scottsdale, Arizona Contract to Hire Accounting & Finance Position Summary
The Full-Cycle Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the entire accounts payable process from invoice receipt to payment completion. This role ensures accurate financial recordkeeping, timely vendor payments, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks Online and Excel and possess strong organizational and communication skills. Key Responsibilities
Invoice Management: Receive, verify, and code invoices using 2- and 3-way matching procedures. Upload and process invoices in QuickBooks Online and other ERP systems. Obtain necessary approvals and ensure timely payment processing via ACH, check runs, or wire transfers. Vendor Relations: Set up and maintain vendor profiles. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies. Manage credit card reconciliations and vendor inquiries professionally. Financial Transactions: Post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records. Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly. Support month-end and year-end close processes with financial summaries and reports. Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls. Prepare and file sales tax reports (e.g., AZ TPT). Assist with audit documentation and variance explanations. Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with payroll and receivables teams to ensure cohesive financial operations. Generate P&L statements and balance sheets for management review. Qualifications
3+ years of experience in full-cycle accounts payable QuickBooks Online certification preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and Google Sheets. Excellent attention to detail and time management skills. Flexible and team player who speaks up in meetings Preferred Attributes
Experience in multi-entity or departmental accounting. Entertainment or hospitality sector experience is a plus.
