Payroll Specialist (Temp-to-Perm)
Location: Parsippany, NJ - Hybrid
2 days remote, 3 days in-office (must be in-office on either Monday or Friday) Schedule: 8:30 AM
5:15 PM | 45-minute lunch Type: Temp-to-Perm (36 months) Salary $40-$45/hr. (Upon Conversion): $80,000

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Payroll Specialist to join our clients team in a high-impact role supporting a 2,000-employee, non-union workforce. This is a critical backfill opportunity due to an upcoming retirement, and we're looking to onboard someone immediately to ensure a smooth transition. Key Responsibilities
Process biweekly payroll for 2,000+ non-union employees with accuracy and timeliness Manage leave of absence (LOA) cases, special pay scenarios, and wage garnishments Prepare and issue manual checks as needed Apply payments and reconcile payroll transactions Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure compliance and resolve discrepancies Support payroll audits and reporting requirements Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and tax filings Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of payroll experience in a mid-to-large organization Strong knowledge of LOA, garnishments, and special pay handling Experience with ADP required; exposure to SAP S/4 HANA a plus Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan.
