GCA is seeking a full-time
Senior Lead Server Engineer
to provide technical leadership on major datacenter and infrastructure initiatives. This role is responsible for establishing goals and plans that support program and project objectives while serving as a technical expert across multiple assignments. The Senior Lead Server Engineer will perform systems engineering throughout the full lifecycle and play a critical role in driving datacenter modernization, infrastructure optimization, and enterprise systems integration. This position requires both deep technical expertise and leadership capabilities, including supervisory responsibilities over technical staff. Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership on major datacenter and infrastructure initiatives. Plan and lead significant technology assignments, evaluate outcomes, and recommend changes impacting project success and growth. Serve as a technical subject matter expert across multiple concurrent projects. Perform systems engineering activities throughout the full lifecycle to support datacenter modernization. Develop a strong understanding of client goals, business needs, and enterprise architectures. Establish and apply development and integration methodologies and standards such as the Enterprise Life Cycle Methodology (ELCM). Facilitate secure collection, storage, and access to electronic data while ensuring system integrity. Provide advanced (Tier 3) support and deliver innovative IT services, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). Monitor servers, services, and core applications; develop and test recovery procedures for business continuity, contingency operations (COOP), and disaster recovery (DRP). Oversee datacenter environment and hardware inventory; implement and manage the Capital Equipment Replacement Program (CERP). Develop system architectures consistent with enterprise standards and client strategic goals. Apply business process improvement practices to reengineer processes, optimize performance, and streamline delivery. Research, evaluate, and implement state-of-the-art technologies, ensuring efficient resource use. Supervise and mentor technical staff. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field. 5–8 years of relevant experience in server engineering or enterprise infrastructure. Base-level certification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Security+, or Network+). Core certification in server technologies, such as: Microsoft (MCSA, MCSP, MCSE, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate) VMware Professional, VMware Advanced Professional, or VMware Specialist Proven experience with datacenter modernization, systems integration, and enterprise infrastructure support. Demonstrated knowledge of contingency operations, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. Strong experience providing Tier 3 support in enterprise environments.
