Overview
Director, Forensic Technology Services (eDiscovery Consulting) at Alvarez & Marsal. This role focuses on leading eDiscovery consulting engagements and serving as a primary client contact, leveraging a range of technologies and best practices to manage data-based evidence and intelligence across legal and regulatory matters. What will you be doing?
Serving as a practice leader and primary client contact, work closely with clients to provide eDiscovery support, leveraging technologies and best practices to uncover and manage data-based evidence across various contentious legal and regulatory situations. You will be directly responsible for engagement quality and success. You will assist clients in confronting and resolving legal matters by providing eDiscovery litigation support on projects including domestic and cross-border disputes, internal and public investigations, and other matter types. Establish consultative relationships with clients to guide them toward best practices in meeting their eDiscovery support needs. Serve as the primary point of client contact in the execution of projects involving identification, collection, processing, review, and production of electronically stored data (ESI) relevant to litigation or investigations. Collaborate with clients to implement efficient workflows, proactively identify and mitigate risk, apply quality control best practices, address technical challenges to make ESI preserved for a matter discoverable, viewable and useful. Lead a broad team of junior professionals responsible for supporting each phase of delivery. Communicate with clients and team members about upcoming commitments and deadlines, project status updates, and delivery issues or challenges. Maintain consistent communication and coordination with clients and team members to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery of all required tasks and project objectives. Manage end-to-end project aspects, including planning, resourcing, organizing, and management of staff on active engagements. Lead external and internal meetings to review work results. Ensure eDiscovery best practices are followed and perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and reliability of analysis. Show expertise in leading eDiscovery tools, including Relativity and Brainspace. Prepare and update documentation of progress and milestones, including summaries of team delivery, tracking, and reporting. Identify opportunities for process improvement and streamlining. Core Qualifications: A bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required, with preference for computer science, information management, data science, or related fields. At least 10 years of relevant professional experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources. Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Exceptional client service and relationship-building skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Fast learner, eager to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Attributes: Expertise with industry-standard tools (Relativity, Reveal, Nuix, Brainspace, etc.). Industry certifications are a plus but not required. Extensive experience with eDiscovery methodology and client service delivery (7+ years). Understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). Experience with Relativity Server and Relativity One as an advanced user and database administrator. Document review management experience is beneficial but not required. J.D. preferred but not required.
