Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of vehicles and machinery, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including Caterpillar and other brands. Conduct maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, and farm machinery. Repair and maintain transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC components. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks. Interpret schematics for electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics. Execute tire service, brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, and alignment tasks. Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used for each vehicle or piece of equipment. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding vehicle issues and repair processes. Assist in training junior mechanics or apprentices as needed. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair. Proficiency in automotive repair techniques including assembly, equipment repair, and maintenance. Experience with heavy lifting and operating forklifts safely. Familiarity with industrial equipment maintenance practices. Ability to work with various tools including soldering equipment for electrical repairs. Previous experience in a dealership setting is preferred but not required. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
