Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the accounting department by performing various tasks related to accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of GAAP principles and proficiency in accounting software. The Accounting Assistant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with established accounting standards. Duties Perform accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, and account analysis. Perform accounts payable functions, managing and processing invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors, maintaining financial records and reconciling accounts and handling vendor inquiries and resolving discrepancies. Maintain the general ledger by recording transactions and reconciling discrepancies. Prepare reports as needed for management review and decision-making. Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Qualifications Proficiency in 10 key typing for efficient data entry. Experience with accounts receivable management is preferred. Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping practices. Knowledge of account analysis techniques to assess financial performance. Experience with general ledger accounting is a plus. Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage and QuickBooks is desirable. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under deadlines. Bilingual Spanish - speak, read and write.
