Job Summary Oyster Bay Manor Senior Assisted living facility located in Oyster Bay NY is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will support the kitchen staff in food preparation and ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness while contributing to the overall success of our food service operations. This position will all assist in ordering and inventory. Duties Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as needed Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitizing work surfaces Support chefs and cooks during food service by preparing ingredients and assembling dishes Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling and storage of all food items Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, adhering to all safety protocols Assist with ordering and taking inventory, familiar with computer programs, email, word, excel. MUST BE VACINATED Qualifications Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred Strong cooking skills with a focus on food preparation techniques Knowledge of food safety standards and practices computer knowledge, email, word, excel, preferred, but will train.
