Job Summary
Marketing and Strategic Engagement Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist Exempt I) at California State University, Fullerton. The College of Business and Economics seeks an exceptional individual to advance strategic relationships between the college and external business, industry, and alumni partners. The role serves as a primary liaison for initiatives that promote CBE’s reputation and impact within the broader business community. It provides high-level guidance to the Dean and marketing leadership and executes a comprehensive plan to amplify the college’s visibility, branding, influence, and institutional goals. The Marketing and Strategic Engagement Analyst also serves as a primary liaison to external boards (e.g., Titan Business Executive Fellow Program, Alumni Council, Dean’s Advisory Board). It advances strategic engagement through innovative ideas and initiatives, provides consultative direction to board members and event committees, and collaborates with the CBE Advancement Team and University External Relations to align messaging and engagement efforts. The role develops and distributes externally focused communications and ensures the financial viability of events through cost-effective planning and compliance with policies. Responsibilities
Create and develop a strategic engagement plan to strengthen connections between the college and external stakeholders, including business leaders, program fellows, alumni, and advisory board members. Develop strategies to increase engagement and volunteer participation; manage recruitment, onboarding, and retention of members. Partner with faculty, student organizations, and administrative units to identify and develop strategic opportunities for external engagement and integrate these efforts into academic and student affairs. Promote relationship building between career services, community partners, and students through mentorship opportunities, networking events, and professional development initiatives. Establish criteria for recognizing contributions from community partners and key external supporters. Lead outreach strategies and develop performance metrics to enhance stakeholder participation in college and university initiatives. Maintain the community engagement section and external board pages of the college website, ensuring content is engaging and aligned with institutional priorities. Collaborate with the College of Business and Economics (CBE) Advancement Team and University External Relations to synchronize messaging and engagement efforts, where appropriate. Other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience related to study, analysis, evaluation, development, or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs; plus two years of related experience. Working knowledge of standard theories, principles, practices, and techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty. Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques. Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work under multiple demands. Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs; ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively; demonstrated ability to interpret, organize, and present information in written or presentation form. Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications or related field. Five years of related experience in alumni relations, event planning, community engagement, or a related field. Experience working in a university setting, particularly within the CSU system. Knowledge of best practices in alumni engagement and volunteer management. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Understanding of higher education sector trends, regulations, and best practices. License/Certifications
A valid California driver’s license and reliable means of transportation. Special Working Conditions
