Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with a proven ability to analyze project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and familiarity with construction contracts, ensuring that all estimates align with project specifications and budgetary constraints. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Utilize software tools such as Xactimate and DocuSketch to create accurate pricing models. Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for estimating purposes. Conduct thorough reviews of project plans and specifications to identify potential challenges or discrepancies. Engage in negotiations with insurance adjusters and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing and terms. Monitor project budgets and perform cost control measures throughout the construction process. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and correspondence related to each project. Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid documents and presenting estimates to stakeholders. Qualifications Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field, with a strong understanding of construction management principles. Proficiency in using estimating software such as Xactimate and DocuSketch is preferred. Solid knowledge of cost control practices and pricing strategies within the construction industry. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. Familiarity with construction site experience is a plus, enabling better understanding of on-site requirements. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
