Swipejobs is hiring a Sheet Metal Shift Supervisor (Finishing & Paint Departments) in Lavonia, Georgia. PAY IS BASED ON INTERVIEW AND EXPERIENCE. Hours are Monday-Thursday 7:00am-5:30pm, currently working Friday and Saturday as well. Overall objective/purpose: Supervise and manage paint department to ensure quality products. Regularly performed tasks: Communicate with plant manager and other supervisors regarding production needs and goals. Effectively communicate, schedule, manage, and instruct employees in order to meet quality and production goals. Adhere to all OSHA and company safety policies and ensure employees are following these guidelines as well to help maintain a safe and efficient work environment. Train new workers how to perform daily tasks and safely use the required tools. Tools, Equipment: Caulk Drill Primer Paint Spray Equipment Responsibilities Supervise daily operations within the department, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards. Train and mentor team members on equipment operation, safety protocols, and best practices in manufacturing processes. Oversee the use of machinery and tools, including forklifts, cranes, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Coordinate materials handling, fabrication, assembly, and painting activities within the department. Maintain accurate records of production metrics and assist in troubleshooting operational issues as they arise. Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages continuous improvement and innovation. Experience Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred. Familiarity with machining, welding, auto body repair, airless paint spraying, and industrial painting techniques is highly desirable. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and materials handling equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance on machinery. Experience with warehouse operations and logistics is beneficial. Basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating production metrics are essential.
