Job Description Part-Time Administrative Assistant Job Description Job Title: Part-Time Administrative Assistant Reports To: Principal Location: Sacred Heart Grade School, 34 Convent Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10703 Hours:25 hours per week Compensation: $17/hour Position Summary The Administrative Assistant provides clerical and organizational support to the Principal, faculty, staff, and school community. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth daily operation of the school office by handling communications, maintaining records, and assisting with administrative tasks in alignment with the mission of Sacred Heart Grade School. Key Responsibilities
Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner. Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other correspondence. Maintain student and staff files in a confidential and organized manner. Assist with attendance tracking and daily reports. Support the Principal and faculty with scheduling, photocopying, mailings, and general clerical duties. Help coordinate school events, meetings, and communications as needed. Maintain office supplies and order replacements when necessary. Uphold the values and mission of Sacred Heart Grade School and the Catholic school community in all interactions. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal. Qualifications
High school diploma required; associate's degree or higher preferred. Prior experience in an office or school setting preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to learn school information systems such as FACTS. Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism. Friendly, welcoming demeanor and commitment to the mission of Catholic education.
