Position Summary: The Logistics & Technical Hardware Deployment Technician

is responsible for the coordination, deployment, and technical support of vehicle tracking systems and associated mobile-connected hardware. This position plays a key role in ensuring timely and efficient hardware installation, maintaining connectivity through mobile networks, managing inventory and logistics, and delivering first-line technical and user support. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical aptitude, practical experience with mobile networks and GPS tracking devices, and excellent organizational skills to manage equipment and end-user needs across multiple operational sites.

What You'll Do: Coordinate and oversee the deployment of GPS tracking systems, telematics devices, SIM-enabled equipment, and related hardware across company or client fleets. Perform or coordinate the installation, configuration, and testing of tracking devices and technical equipment in accordance with safety and operational guidelines. Manage and maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, logistics tracking, deployment schedules, and support activities. Ensure proper activation, configuration, and connectivity of mobile network services (e.g., APN setup, signal strength verification). Monitor the performance and connectivity of deployed devices through remote dashboards and diagnostic tools; escalate unresolved issues to appropriate technical teams or vendors. Provide timely technical assistance and user support to internal staff and clients via phone, email, or in person, including troubleshooting hardware and mobile connectivity issues. Liaise with mobile network operators and hardware vendors for provisioning, fault resolution, replacements, and support documentation. Deliver user training on proper equipment usage, reporting procedures, and basic troubleshooting techniques. Assist in the evaluation, testing, and implementation of new tracking technologies and mobile-connected hardware solutions. Ensure compliance with internal procedures, data privacy regulations, and technical standards throughout all deployment and support processes.

Who You Are: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in technical hardware deployment, fleet tracking systems, or mobile device support. Solid understanding of mobile network technologies (4G, LTE, 5G) and SIM card configuration. Proven ability to install, troubleshoot, and support GPS tracking or telematics hardware. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records. Demonstrated experience providing end-user technical support, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ticketing, inventory, and fleet management systems. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork as needed. Post-secondary technical training or certifications (e.g., CompTIA, networking, mobile systems) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with fleet management platforms, IoT device monitoring systems, or mobile device management (MDM) tools. Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and safe installation practices. Familiarity with remote diagnostics tools and mobile connectivity troubleshooting. Ability to interface with cross-functional teams, vendors, and non-technical users effectively.

Working Conditions: Office and field-based environment; travel required to support deployments or on-site troubleshooting. Must be able to lift and transport equipment as necessary (up to 55lbs). Flexible working hours may be required during system rollouts or urgent support needs.
