We are seeking a skilled Lead Heavy Equipment Mobile Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
*Duties*
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, and farm machinery. * Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of industrial equipment and vehicles, including tractor-trailers and forklifts. * Utilize schematics to understand complex systems for effective repairs and modifications. * Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues related to engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC components, and more. * Execute welding tasks as needed for fabrication and repair projects. * Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on equipment. * Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs and repair status. * Operate heavy machinery safely while adhering to all safety protocols.
*Skills*
* Proven experience in heavy equipment operation and mechanic roles. * Familiarity with automotive repair techniques including brake repair, alignment, shocks & struts, and tire service. * Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. * Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read schematics and technical manuals. * Knowledge of diesel engine repair principles and practices. * Experience with fabrication techniques is a plus. * Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties. * Electrical experience is beneficial for troubleshooting electrical systems in machinery. * Previous dealership or service technician experience is preferred but not mandatory.
