Overview

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring efficient inventory control, and supporting the overall operations of the warehouse or inventory department. This role helps ensure inventory levels are accurate, stock is properly managed, and discrepancies are promptly addressed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records by performing regular counts, audits, and reconciliations. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment of inventory. Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Data Entry and Documentation: Accurately enter inventory data into the inventory management system. Prepare and maintain necessary documentation, including receiving reports, transfer records, and inventory adjustment forms.
  • Receiving and Shipping: Assist with the receiving of incoming shipments, verify quantities and inspect for damages. Coordinate with the shipping department to ensure timely and accurate dispatch of orders.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including overages, shortages, and mislabeling. Collaborate with other departments to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Warehouse Organization: Help maintain an organized and efficient warehouse environment. Ensure inventory is stored safely and accessibly, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Reporting: Generate regular inventory reports and provide insights to management regarding inventory trends and issues. Assist in the preparation of periodic and ad-hoc inventory reports as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Higher education in a related field is a plus.
  • Entry-level position; no prior inventory management experience required. Warehouse experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

  • Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods may be required.
  • Primarily in a warehouse or storage facility environment.
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet inventory deadlines.
