Regional Truck Driver at Nussbaum Transportation
Hiring in Northeast Illinois into Wisconsin. Home weekly. Most workweeks are Mon-Fri, with weekends at home. Some trips may depart on Sunday or return on Saturday, but less frequently than OTR.
Compensation and Benefits
- Earn $63-70K your first year (based on experience).
- Increase your earning potential: tenure pay +$0.01 per mile each year (up to $0.50/mile).
- Driver Scorecard Bonus: +$0.02-$0.08/mile (average driver earns $0.03-$0.05).
- Certified RED Bonus: +$0.02/mile.
- Door-to-door practical miles — empty & loaded.
- $1,200 - $1,250 weekly guarantee (based on experience). If your miles are short due to delays or breakdowns, you’ll still earn the guaranteed amount.
- Activity pay for the work you do, not just the miles you run: $20 for pickups and deliveries, $12 for trailer relays and shuttles, $20/hour detention pay (starts after 1 hour), $270 - $280/day layover pay.
- Paid Orientation at Nussbaum Headquarters — $200/day.
- Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) match; paid vacation and holidays ($290/day); rider policy ($10/month); paid parking (100%).

Job Details
- Majority of loads within a 350-mile radius; some up to 400 miles, rarely farther.
- Rider policy available.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- At least 6 months of recent driving experience OR completion of Nussbaum training program.
- Valid CDL-A.
- No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Meet all other Nussbaum requirements.
Additional Information
- Early Exit Option: If you decide in the first 90 days that Nussbaum isn’t the right fit, you’ll receive a $1,000 bonus after hauling for 30 days and separating before 90 days.
