General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practices, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The role requires engagement in assigned tasks during all working hours and may include a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require. Additional tasks may be required in specific situations to achieve Customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors in all duties.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keep egress clear; report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
- Assist Customers as needed—register-trained, assist with merchandise, and answer questions politely and knowledgeably; greet Customers with eye contact, a smile, and a courteous greeting throughout the store; thank Customers at every register transaction.
- Provide prompt and efficient responses to Customers; respond to Service calls and escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters/mirrors), replenish restrooms, and disinfect high-touch areas to maintain store conditions.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and well-merchandised to standards.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per guidelines; maintain brand familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
- Understand Loss Prevention practices, including the Shortage Highway and Store Protection Specialist where applicable.
- Demonstrate integrity and protect confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
- Follow MOS policies for identifying, processing, and disposing of MOS merchandise with proper approvals.
- Adhere to policies regarding cash, checks, cards, refunds, voids, and offline procedures; maintain accuracy with tender handling.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other supplies; stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 pounds.

The base pay range for this role is $16.50 - $17.00. The base pay range is dependent on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range is one component of total compensation. Other rewards vary by position and location.
