An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students in both elementary and high school settings. This contract position, located in Havelock, NC, runs for the 2025-2026 school year, starting August 18th and concluding May 22nd. The role is full-time and onsite.

Key responsibilities include managing two self-contained and inclusion classrooms: Elementary Self-Contained Classroom (Grades K-3): Serve a caseload of 7 students in an adaptive setting that includes autism and nonverbal students with intensive needs. The classroom will have at least two teaching assistants available. High School Inclusion Classroom (Grades 9-12): Support a caseload of roughly 15 students, with up to 37 students daily, focusing on inclusion within the same campus area but a different school. Qualifications and experience desired: Special Education certification is required; an adaptive certification is preferred though other certifications and out-of-state candidates will be considered. Experience working with students with autism and intensive needs is highly valued. Ability to collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and other school staff. Commitment to full-time, onsite presence during school hours from 8:00 AM to 2:45 PM.
