A School Psychologist is needed on a contract basis to serve an elementary school in Waterbury, CT, with additional evaluations in nearby districts, including Stratford, CT, and surrounding areas. This role is set to begin immediately and will continue through June 11, 2025. The position offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule with approximately 35 hours per week.
The experience expected from applicants, as well as additional skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below. Key Responsibilities: Conduct psychological evaluations including initial assessments and triennials for elementary-aged students. Manage evaluation caseload efficiently to meet district deadlines. Collaborate with school staff and other professionals to interpret results and develop actionable recommendations. Support the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on evaluation findings. Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state guidelines. Qualifications: Current Connecticut Department of Education 070 Certification as a School Psychologist. Experience conducting initial and triennial evaluations is preferred. Strong understanding of elementary-aged student development and assessment tools. Excellent communication skills to work effectively with educators, parents, and administrators. Ability to work on-site; virtual or hybrid work arrangements are not available. Additional Information: Chromebook will be provided to support work tasks. The caseload will focus exclusively on evaluations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented with a passion for supporting student success through expert psychological assessment.
