A professional Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available for the current school year at a high school located in Bethlehem, PA. This contract position offers a schedule of 6.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, totaling 32.5 hours weekly, with immediate start through the end of the school year.

Responsibilities: Facilitate clear and effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and teachers using sign language interpretation. Support classroom instruction and extracurricular activities to ensure full student participation. Collaborate with educators and support staff to accommodate students individual communication needs. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Adhere to the policies and requirements of the educational institution. Qualifications: A minimum of 3.5 on the EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) or RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) certification is required. Must have or be able to obtain the following clearances and documentation (contractors with clearances already in hand will be prioritized):
ACT 168 Form (valid for 5 years) ACT 126 Form (Mandated Reporter, valid for 5 years) PA Child Abuse Clearance (valid for 5 years) PA Fingerprints (ACT 114, results to be submitted, valid for 5 years) TB test documentation PATCH background check (requires payment, valid for 1 year) Arrest and Conviction Report (valid for 5 years)
Location: Bethlehem, PA Liberty High School This role is suited for interpreters committed to supporting students in an educational setting through clear and competent sign language services during the entire school year.
