This remote interpreting role involves facilitating communication between deaf/hard of hearing students and their hearing peers and educators through advanced video conferencing technology. You'll work 35-37.5 hours per week supporting students across elementary through high school grade levels, ensuring equal access to curriculum and classroom discussions. Key Responsibilities
Provide real-time ASL interpretation during virtual class sessions Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and support staff Interpret for IEP meetings, parent conferences, and educational assessments Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality standards Collaborate with educational teams to optimize student communication access Document service provision and student engagement levels Virtual Learning Environment
Our sophisticated platform enables seamless interpretation services through high-definition video streaming with minimal latency. Interpreters work from professional home office setups, connecting directly with classrooms to provide immediate language access for students participating in mainstream educational programming. Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements: EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (minimum requirement) Minimum 2 years of educational interpreting experience Reliable high-speed internet connection (25+ Mbps upload/download) Professional lighting setup for clear visual communication Quiet, dedicated workspace for interpreting services Preferred Qualifications: EIPA score of 4.0 or higher Written EIPA certification RID/NIC certification with written examination component Experience with virtual interpreting platforms Familiarity with K-12 curriculum and educational terminology Technical Requirements
