This full-time virtual position encompasses 37 hours per week providing interpretation services for a diverse group of 35-45 students spanning kindergarten through 12th grade. You'll utilize state-of-the-art video technology to deliver professional sign language interpretation that enables seamless participation in virtual learning environments and educational activities. Primary Duties
Deliver real-time sign language interpretation for virtual classroom instruction and discussions Provide interpretation services during online assessments, testing accommodations, and evaluations Support virtual extracurricular activities, assemblies, and school-wide events Interpret for parent-teacher conferences, IEP meetings, and educational planning sessions Collaborate with deaf education specialists and general education teachers through digital platforms Maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards in remote interpreting situations Document interpretation services and participate in student progress monitoring Engage in continuing education opportunities focused on educational interpreting excellence Required Credentials
Required: EIPA score of 3.5 or higher demonstrating educational interpreting competency Minimum two years of interpreting experience in educational settings Technical proficiency with video platforms and virtual meeting software Professional home office environment suitable for visual communication services Background check clearance appropriate for working with minors in educational settings Strong understanding of deaf culture and American Sign Language linguistics Preferred: EIPA score of 4.0 or above Written EIPA certification Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or National Interpreter Certification (NIC) Specialized training in educational interpreting methodologies Student Population
