Provide comprehensive virtual sign language interpretation services to approximately 42-52 students in grades Pre-K through 12. Your 37-hour work week will include direct interpretation services, preparation time, and collaborative meetings with school teams. Our technology platform features crystal-clear video capabilities and specialized tools designed for optimal visual communication. Essential Duties
Conduct real-time sign language interpretation during virtual classroom instruction Provide interpretation services for online educational assessments and testing situations Support virtual IEP meetings, 504 plan conferences, and educational planning sessions Interpret for virtual school assemblies, performances, and community events Collaborate with deaf education teachers and support staff through secure communication systems Maintain professional interpreting ethics and standards in remote service environments Document interpretation services and participate in student progress discussions Engage in professional development opportunities focused on educational interpreting excellence Required Qualifications
Required: EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or above Minimum two years of interpreting experience in educational settings Demonstrated skills in virtual interpretation delivery and platform management High-speed internet connection and professional home office environment optimized for video services Excellent visual communication skills and understanding of American Sign Language Background check clearance suitable for educational service provision Preferred: EIPA score of 4.0 or higher Written EIPA certification Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or National Interpreter Certification (NIC) Specialized training in educational interpreting and deaf culture Student Characteristics
