Provide specialized occupational therapy services for students in a K-12 school setting during a maternity leave contract from mid-October through January. This full-time role requires 37.5 to 40 hours per week in Colchester, VT, supporting a diverse caseload across multiple schools.
A variety of soft skills and experience may be required for the following role Please ensure you check the overview below carefully. Responsibilities include delivering individualized OT interventions to approximately 76 students, primarily across three schools, two of which share a campus. The caseload spans mild, moderate, and severe needs, focusing on students with diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Delay, and Other Health Impairments, primarily ADHD. The therapist will also manage new evaluations as needed. Key responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop tailored treatment plans Implement evidence-based interventions to support student participation and functional skills Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, parents, and other therapists Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school policies Adjust therapy methods based on student needs and progress Qualifications: Valid and active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist Experience providing school-based occupational therapy services to K-12 populations Familiarity with supporting students with ASD, Developmental Delays, ADHD, and other health impairments Ability to manage a caseload efficiently across multiple school environments Strong communication and teamwork skills Location: Colchester, Vermont This temporary contract offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a varied student population within a supportive school system.
