This position calls for an experienced General Education Science teacher to instruct middle and high school students (grades 6-12) in Earth and Physical Science as well as Biology. Location & Schedule: Based in Laurel, MT Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Academic calendar provided Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive science instruction focusing on Earth, Physical Science, and Biology Utilize technology to enhance classroom engagement and student understanding Manage a caseload of 8-12 students, with some classes as small as 4-5 learners, due to diverse course offerings including Vocational Agriculture, Woodworking, Physical Education, Art, Music, Business Education, Technology, Social Studies, Mathematics, Special Education, and English Collaborate with staff in a specialized academy serving approximately 160-170 students in Day Treatment and Residential settings Participate in training to achieve certification in Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP), emphasizing de-escalation and safe restraint techniques when needed Desired Qualifications & Experience: Certification or strong background in General Education Science instruction Ability and willingness to be certified in VIP training to support a safe and nurturing classroom environment Experience teaching diverse student populations, particularly in specialized educational settings, is highly advantageous Strong classroom management and communication skills Competency in integrating modern educational technology tools This is a contract-to-hire role, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact in a unique instructional setting where innovation and compassion are valued.
