We are seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to join our virtual education network serving students in Columbus and surrounding areas. This remote position offers the opportunity to work with students across various grade levels in a supportive, technology-enhanced learning environment. Key Position Details: Schedule:
35-37.5 hours per week Caseload:
45-55 students across multiple grade levels Grade Levels:
K-12 (varies by assignment) Format:
100% virtual instruction via secure online platforms Support Areas:
Learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral support, and developmental delays Core Responsibilities
Student Instruction & Support Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs Deliver engaging virtual lessons using interactive educational technology Provide direct instruction in academic subjects modified for special learning requirements Conduct virtual one-on-one and small group sessions to reinforce learning objectives Assessment & Progress Monitoring Regularly assess student progress through virtual evaluation tools Maintain detailed records of student achievements and areas for improvement Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure seamless support across all subjects Prepare comprehensive progress reports for parents and school teams Collaboration & Communication Participate in virtual IEP meetings with parents, administrators, and related service providers Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and goals Work closely with school psychologists, speech therapists, and other specialists Provide guidance and resources to parents supporting their children's learning at home Required Qualifications
Education & Licensure Master's degree in Special Education or related field Current Ohio special education teaching license Minimum 2 years of school-based special education experience Experience with IEP development and implementation Technical Skills Proficiency with virtual learning platforms and educational technology Strong computer skills including video conferencing, document sharing, and online assessment tools Reliable high-speed internet connection and quiet home workspace Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues during virtual sessions Professional Skills Excellent communication skills for virtual parent and team interactions Strong organizational abilities for managing digital student files and lesson plans Patience and creativity in adapting teaching methods for online delivery Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality in a home-based work environment What Makes This Opportunity Unique
