We're expanding our remote special education team and seeking an experienced teacher to provide exceptional educational services while pioneering innovative approaches to virtual special education delivery. Role Details
This full-time remote position encompasses 37.5 hours per week, serving students with disabilities across grades K-12 in virtual learning environments. You'll maintain a caseload of 45 students with diverse needs, utilizing state-of-the-art educational technology to deliver personalized instruction and support that drives meaningful student progress. Key Responsibilities
Specialized Instruction Delivery Provide direct virtual instruction in core academic subjects with special education modifications Implement evidence-based teaching strategies adapted for virtual learning platforms Support students with varying disabilities including autism, intellectual disabilities, specific learning disabilities, and multiple disabilities Create differentiated lessons that address individual learning goals and accommodation needs Assessment & Progress Monitoring Conduct virtual assessments to monitor student progress toward IEP goals Collect and analyze data to inform instructional decisions and IEP modifications Complete quarterly progress reports and communicate outcomes to families and teams Participate in annual IEP reviews and triennial evaluations Family Engagement & Training Conduct regular virtual conferences with families to discuss student progress Provide training and support to families on implementing educational strategies at home Facilitate communication between families and school teams Support families in accessing community resources and services Collaboration & Consultation Work closely with general education teachers to support inclusive practices Collaborate with related service providers including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and school psychologists Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences Provide consultation on accommodations and modifications for virtual learning Qualification Requirements
Educational Background Master's degree in Special Education required Current Ohio special education teaching license Minimum 2 years of classroom teaching experience with students with disabilities Virtual teaching or online education experience strongly preferred Technology Proficiency Experience with virtual teaching platforms and educational technology tools Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive software applications Strong computer skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues Reliable internet connection and professional home office setup Professional Competencies Comprehensive understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and special education regulations Expertise in differentiated instruction and universal design for learning principles Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Work Environment Benefits
