Overview
Role Description: As a member of the BMO Digital Architecture, the Senior Solution Architect leads end-to-end technology solutions and high-level designs for key initiatives in collaboration with other architects and in alignment with the banks target architecture and standards for a business domain like Deposits, Cards, Lending, Channels, etc. This role drives technology strategy and roadmaps of business functional areas deposits, cards, payments, operations, customer experience, analytics working with business and technology partners. Establishes as a technology solution expert in one or more banking domains to advise Lead Technology Officers and their business leaders in solving business problems. Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end technology solutions and high-level designs for key initiatives, in alignment with target architecture and standards. Drive technology strategy and roadmaps for business functional areas (deposits, cards, payments, operations, customer experience, analytics) with business and technology partners. Act as a technology solution expert to advise leadership in solving business problems. Document solution proposals and high-level end-to-end design flow to gain agreement from Security, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Architecture. Coordinate cross-team communication and facilitate technical issue review for governance forums; socialize technical decisions with project teams. Evaluate multiple solution design options with a multi-disciplined team to design integrated solution architecture across application areas while adhering to Enterprise standards. Lead or assist with new technology evaluation against BMO target architecture and standards. Produce project- and program-level technical documentation (solution options, solution architecture, high-level end-to-end design) in collaboration with other technical leads. Document solutions using the banks standard templates and hand off design work to the next group in the development pipeline. Identify and communicate risks (business, application, technical) and resolve issues as they arise. Assist with function area-specific target architecture, transition architectures, and technology roadmaps. Qualifications
15 years of IT experience with minimum 6 years of hands-on solution architecture experience for enterprise-grade applications. Experience as a solution architect who works with enterprise architects and leads solution architecture and design for multiple projects in alignment with target architecture and standards. Previous development experience (Cloud, DevOps, Agile). Experience with services management (web services, REST, Web API, ESB, message-based) development, integration and deployment. Enterprise-level application architecture; strong application security/infrastructure and deployment exposure. Data placement and data integration background; ability to relate end-to-end business processes into simplified solutions and improved UX. Multi-vendor integration design including infrastructure experience; API design and API security; digital/mobile architecture experience. AI, insights, automation experience; technical facilitation bringing various technology groups and vendors for solution design and execution. Ability to document solution proposals and obtain agreement from stakeholders across Security, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Architecture. Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with developers up to the C-level. Banking solution experience is desirable; understanding of Cloud (e.g., AWS) technologies. The person will work on multiple projects (3 to 4) at the same time in different functional areas of the Bank (e.g., Channels, Sales/Marketing/CRM, Commercial Lending, Collections). Not looking for hard-core developers for Java or .NET application coding; not a DBA, data modeller, project/program manager, business analyst, data analyst, system analyst or system administrator. Typical Day-to-Day Activities: coordinate cross-team communication, facilitate resolution of technical issues, identify and communicate risks, evaluate solution options and ensure alignment with Enterprise standards. Document high-level design and hand-off to the next group in the development pipeline; document solutions using bank standard templates. Example Work & Projects

Drive Digital Architecture for Deposits, or for Retail products (retail lending or credit cards). Drive cross-product, cross-channel customer experience integration architecture for retail or commercial customers. Drive the platform application architecture of a new loan origination platform. Drive payment process automation solutions in backend processing (ACH, Check Processing, Lockbox). Drive various aspects of Collections solution as part of the core architecture team responsible for enterprise-wide collections. Drive and document solution for risk underwriting and credit risk auto-decisioning integration. Drive target architecture and roadmap for various banking capabilities. Salary and Pay
Salary: 112,200.00 - 209,000.00 Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Groups pay range and type. Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on hours worked.
