A part-time Special Education teacher position is available for the 2025/2026 school year at a middle school located in Mount Vernon, WA. This contract role runs through the school year (CSY) and involves working five days per week with flexible morning or afternoon hours.

Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized instruction and support to a caseload of approximately 12 middle school students with diverse learning needs Develop, implement, and modify Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with students, families, and educational teams Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to promote academic and social growth Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and inclusion Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and school personnel Qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with middle school-aged students Strong knowledge of special education laws, instructional methods, and behavioral strategies Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent organizational and communication skills Schedule and Location: Part-time, half-day schedule (either morning or afternoon shifts) Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM School year starts with staff orientation on August 25, with students returning on September 3 Position based in Mount Vernon, WA This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the academic and personal growth of students with special needs in a supportive educational environment.
