This full-time position is for a Special Education Teacher working with high school students during the 2025/2026 school year. The role is a contract assignment located in San Jose, CA, supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities. The successful candidate will work in person, managing a high school caseload and delivering effective educational programs tailored to individual student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities
Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and instruction
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records and documentation
Provide direct instruction, support, and behavioral interventions in a classroom setting
Communicate regularly with parents, counselors, and other stakeholders regarding student progress and needs
Participate in professional development and adhere to district policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Valid Mild/Moderate Special Education credential
Experience working with high school students in a special education setting
Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
Effective classroom management and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Commitment to supporting student growth and inclusion
