A school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the full contract school year in West Hartford, CT, serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This role supports a large district that is flexible with placements to balance caseloads and accommodate candidate needs in terms of location and workload.
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role. Key Responsibilities: Provide speech-language services to students K-12, addressing various communication disorders. Manage a caseload typically ranging from 45 to 60 students, ensuring effective therapy plans. Collaborate with educators and support staff to integrate speech therapy within the educational environment. Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports as required by the school district. Qualifications and Experience: Credentialed with CCC-SLP certification. Experience in healthcare and pediatric speech therapy. Proven ability to deliver teletherapy services. Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) preferred. Previous experience working in a school setting is highly desirable. Location: West Hartford, Connecticut This position offers an opportunity to work within a sizable district that supports flexibility in placements and caseload management. While there is a need for up to four SLPs, the district anticipates hiring two candidates, with the possibility of adjusting assignments to fit individual preferences and district requirements.
