A licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed for a K-12 school setting in West Hartford, CT. This contract position spans the current school year, offering approximately 30 hours per week. The role involves providing specialized speech therapy services to a caseload of 25-30 students, supported by a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).

Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized speech and language therapy services to students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Collaborate with an SLPA to enhance therapy efficiency and effectiveness. Manage a diverse caseload including one student with a cochlear implant. Exclude cases involving feeding issues or medically fragile students. Maintain compliance with all relevant healthcare and educational standards. Qualifications and Experience: Current Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology. Experience working within pediatric and school environments. Comfort and capability in managing a higher volume caseload with assistant support. Familiarity with students utilizing cochlear implants. Willingness to re-evaluate acceptance of Clinical Fellows (CFs) and SLPA participation. Location: West Hartford, Connecticut Additional Notes: The position does not currently require use of voice output communication devices (VOCAs). Potential use of a specific communication system (Will Callaway VBD) could be considered if the caseload changes. This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated SLP seeking experience in a varied educational setting with strong support from an SLPA.
