Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized instructional plans tailored for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across K-12 grade levels Utilize appropriate communication methods, including sign language and assistive technology, to enhance student engagement and learning Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, counselors, and general education teachers to support student success Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with educational standards and policies Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes accessibility and equal opportunities for all learners Qualifications: Valid teaching credential with certification or specialized training in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 setting Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or relevant communication techniques Strong knowledge of best practices in special education and individualized education programs (IEPs) Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and educational staff Location: Vacaville, California This contract role is ideal for an educator seeking a meaningful position that directly impacts the academic and social development of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
