An opportunity is available for experienced Special Education Teachers to support two unique classroom settings for the 2025-2026 school year in Morehead City, NC. This is a contract position serving elementary and secondary school populations within a full-time, onsite role from August 18th through May 22nd, with work hours of 8:00 AM to 2:45 PM.

Responsibilities include: Managing a self-contained adaptive classroom for grades K-3, focusing on students with Autism and nonverbal communication needs. The caseload consists of 7 students, supported by at least 2 teaching assistants. Providing instruction and support in an inclusion classroom serving grades 9-12, with a caseload ranging from approximately 15 to 37 students with varying adaptive needs. Collaborating with school staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to intensive student needs. Maintaining a structured, supportive classroom environment that fosters academic and social growth. Preferred qualifications and experience: Adaptive certification is highly desirable; however, candidates with other relevant special education credentials or out-of-state certifications will be considered. Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other intensive needs is important. Ability to work effectively alongside teaching assistants and school personnel to meet diverse student needs. Strong organizational and communication skills to manage caseload responsibilities efficiently.
