This full-time, onsite position is for a Special Education Teacher supporting students with diverse and intensive needs across two separate classrooms in New Bern, NC, for the 2025-2026 school year. Serving elementary and high school students, the role focuses on delivering tailored instruction within self-contained and inclusion settings.

Responsibilities include: Managing a self-contained adaptive classroom for grades K-3 with a caseload of 7 students, primarily serving those with autism and nonverbal communication needs. This classroom is supported by at least two teaching assistants. Leading an inclusion classroom for grades 9-12 with a caseload ranging from 15 to 37 students daily, providing specialized support to meet varied educational requirements. Collaborating with staff to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that address each students unique learning goals. Maintaining a supportive and structured learning environment that encourages student engagement and growth. Participating in ongoing professional development and team meetings to facilitate best practices. Qualifications and desired experience: Adaptive certification preferred; however, other special education certifications and out-of-state credentials will be considered. Experience working with students with autism and intensive special needs. Strong classroom management skills with a focus on individualized instruction. Ability to collaborate with teaching assistants and school staff effectively. Commitment to working full-time onsite from August 18th, 2025, through May 22nd, 2026. Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 2:45 PM.
