A Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the 2025-2026 school year within a K-12 educational setting located in King George, VA. This full-time, contract role runs from August 13th through May 21st and involves a Monday through Friday schedule. The position requires in-person work and an itinerant assignment, providing services across multiple locations according to student needs.

Responsibilities include: Supporting licensed Speech-Language Pathologists by implementing individualized intervention plans for students with speech-language disorders. Assisting with assessment procedures such as case histories, observation checklists, and test administration and scoring. Collaborating with therapists, teachers, parents, and other professionals to gather and share information related to student progress. Participating in meetings including IEP conferences and parent sessions to discuss functional goals. Preparing documentation to support evaluations, progress reports, and communication with stakeholders. Transporting students as needed between testing or therapy locations. Maintaining a positive and collaborative approach while learning and applying new strategies to support student outcomes. Qualifications: Associates or Bachelors degree in Speech, Language and Hearing or Communication Disorders. Experience as a paraprofessional or in a school environment preferred. Training or experience in language and/or articulation therapy preferred. Strong communication skills with active listening and two-way interaction. Ability to work effectively with students, families, and team members. Willingness to maintain a positive, upbeat demeanor and adapt to new techniques. This role offers a competitive hourly rate starting at $33, with compensation commensurate with credentials.
