Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive orientation and mobility assessments for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Develop and implement individualized mobility training plans tailored to each students unique needs. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to integrate mobility supports throughout the school day. Provide direct instruction in travel skills, use of assistive technology, and environmental awareness. Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to ensure effective skill acquisition and safety. Maintain detailed documentation and communicate regularly with the educational team. Desired Qualifications: Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) credential preferred. Experience working with visually impaired or blind children in an educational setting. Strong knowledge of mobility aids, assistive devices, and current best practices in orientation and mobility training. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to tailor instruction to diverse student abilities and learning styles. Location & Schedule: Position located in Seattle, WA. Contract duration aligns with the current school year (CSY).
