An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support K-12 students in a dynamic educational setting. This contract position runs through the current school year and is based in Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to enhancing the independence and safety of students with visual impairments through expert instruction and support.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver individualized orientation and mobility training tailored to each student's needs Assess the mobility skills of visually impaired students and create personalized learning plans Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers to integrate mobility strategies into students' daily routines Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly to ensure goals are met Provide advocacy and education regarding accessibility and adaptive techniques within the school community Qualifications: Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS preferred) Experience working with children in K-12 educational environments Strong knowledge of orientation and mobility techniques and adaptive technologies Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams Commitment to fostering student independence and confidence Location: Seattle, Washington This contract position offers the chance to make a significant impact on students' lives by empowering them with essential mobility and orientation skills.
