This opportunity is for licensed professionals to provide essential educational support to students with visual impairments in a dynamic K-12 school setting in Seattle, WA. Seeking a qualified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) and a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to work collaboratively during the school year under a contract arrangement.

The ideal candidate is licensed in Washington state as a TVI and/or OMS, with a strong preference for one individual holding both credentials. However, two part-time professionals filling each role separately will also be considered. This is an in-person position serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade, with the TVI providing services three days per week and the OMS two days per week. Key Responsibilities: Assess and implement individualized orientation and mobility training for visually impaired students Develop and deliver specialized instructional strategies tailored to students' unique needs Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to enhance student learning and safety Monitor progress and adjust techniques to support educational and developmental goals Maintain compliance with state licensure requirements and school policies Qualifications: Current Washington state licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired and/or Orientation and Mobility Specialist Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams Ability to deliver services in person with flexibility and professionalism Location: Seattle, WA Position Type: Contract, Non-School Year (NSY) This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students independence and academic success.
