Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' visual and academic needs Utilize specialized teaching methods and assistive technologies to facilitate learning Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure comprehensive educational support Conduct assessments and track progress of students' academic and orientation/mobility skills Provide consultation and training to school personnel regarding visual impairments and accommodations Qualifications: Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with K-12 students with visual impairments Strong understanding of Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team Excellent communication and organizational skills Location: San Jose, California Duration: Full contract for the next school year (NSY) This contract role offers a rewarding opportunity to impact the educational experience of visually impaired students while working in a supportive K-12 environment.
