Location Calumet City, IL Position Details Full-time, transitional self-contained K-1 classroom Contract position for the current school year One opening available Qualifications Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement Experience working with special education students, particularly in early elementary grades, is preferred Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and other educators Responsibilities Design and deliver effective, individualized instruction to support the academic and social development of students with special needs Manage classroom environment to foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including therapists and support staff, to provide comprehensive student support Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and compliance Benefits W-2 contract status with competitive compensation Access to a 401k retirement plan Comprehensive insurance and benefits package This role presents an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to contribute to the growth and success of young learners in a supportive, structured educational setting.
