A full-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the 2025-2026 school year in a K-12 in-person setting located in Fredericksburg, VA. This contract role supports elementary students Monday through Friday, focusing on individualized speech and language assessment and therapy while collaborating with educational staff and families.

Key Responsibilities: Provide consultative and advisory services to school personnel in diagnosing and treating speech and language disorders. Conduct screenings and evaluations for speech, language, articulation, and auditory development. Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to IEP planning and communication. Maintain ongoing communication with staff, families, and healthcare agencies to monitor student progress. Deliver direct therapy services to students with speech and language impairments to support academic and personal growth. Assist educators in developing appropriate language programming in classroom and community environments. Minimum Qualifications: Active Virginia SLP license. Experience or training in speech-language assessment, evaluation, and consultation. Knowledge of special education procedures, disability categories, and the full special education process. Ability to establish positive professional relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners. Commitment to supporting students with special education needs. Effective communication skills, including active listening and appropriate communication channels. Preferred: Previous experience working in a school setting and expertise in early learning or atypical impairments. This position reports to the Director of Special Education and begins August 13, 2025, concluding May 21, 2026, with a 40-hour workweek.
